My story: music, sound, and architecture

I’m Alessandro Placci (Lugo-RA, 1974). My journey began at the “A. Corelli” music school in Fusignano and the “A. Boito” Conservatory in Parma, where in 1998 I graduated in Piano under the guidance of M° Mauro Minguzzi, Maestro at the International Piano Academy in Imola. This experience gave me a profound sensitivity to sound, rhythm, and proportion, fundamental elements that I would later rediscover in architecture and taught me to listen to others in order to achieve the best possible overall result.

In 2000 I combined this passion with what is now my profession, graduating in Architectural Engineering in Bologna with an experimental thesis in Architectural Acoustics applied to Restoration, working with Prof. Architect Giuseppe Cuppini and Prof. Massimo Garai. After co-founding the STUDIUM PROGETTI studio in 2003, I made a decision that defined my career: to dedicate myself entirely to research and consulting in the field of acoustics and stage technology for spaces devoted to listening. This is how ALESSANDRO PLACCI ACUSTICA was born, so I was lucky to work with many Masters of contemporary Architecture: For me Acoustics is the tool to design a space through sound.

This passion does not stop at consulting: I have developed and patented several products that today are applied in building and furniture acoustics. At the same time, I keep my connection with Art alive as a founding member of cultural associations promoting music.

I live and work in Faenza, sharing my approach—which combines the sensitivity of a musician with the precision of an engineer—in every project, even beyond national borders.
